Protecting The Enviromnent
Lumber used by the Muskoka Furniture Mennonite builders is harvested from carefully managed forests (no clear cutting) and the small company that finishes the raw furniture does so with the most stringent environmentally responsible stains and lacquers as dictated by government regulations. Also, this product is handcrafted right here in the province and comes with zero packaging (we blanket everything), as opposed to imported furniture that requires an immense amount of packaging to survive the many hands of transport workers and the long 'carbon foot print' ride across the oceans and continents by boat, truck, rail and fork lift. We keep everything simple and local.

Nature Creates but never duplicates, so two pieces of wood, even from the same tree are never exactly alike. The difference in natural colour and grain may cause each piece of wood to react differently to the finishing materials used. A slight difference in colour may be observed
between several pieces even in the same article. Mineral deposits, sound knots and slight surface cracks are the true characteristics of quality solid wood products to be enjoyed naturally!
